To connect Instagram to WordPress using Elevated Instagram Feed, navigate to Elevated › Instagram Feed and click the My Feeds tab. Switch to the Accounts tab and click Connect Account to launch the Instagram authorization popup, then click Allow to grant access. The connected account appears in your account list, and the first account connected is automatically set as the default.
Go to Elevated › Instagram Feed in your WordPress admin sidebar. The Elevated Instagram Feed Manager page opens with the My Feeds tab active by default.

Click the Accounts tab.

Depending on whether you are connecting for the first time or already have accounts connected, you will see one of two layouts:
Click the Connect Account card.
A popup window opens and redirects to Instagram’s authorization page. Your WordPress admin remains open in the background; do not close it.

The popup URL changes to instagram.com, indicating that the OAuth (Open Authorization) handshake has started.
If you are not already logged into Instagram in this browser, log in with the credentials of the Instagram account you want to connect to WordPress.
Review the permission request, then click Allow. The popup will close automatically, and the new account will appear in your Connected Accounts list.
After the popup closes, the Accounts tab will show your newly connected account. The card displays:

To confirm the connection works, proceed to Creating a New Feed and select this account in Step 2 of the wizard. The live preview should populate with recent posts from the connected account.
Elevated Instagram Feed uses Instagram’s official OAuth flow to connect accounts. The plugin never sees or stores your Instagram password, as Instagram handles authentication directly and issues a secure access token to the plugin. When you click Allow on the Instagram authorization screen, you are granting the plugin permission to read your public profile and media on your behalf.
You can connect more than one Instagram account to a single WordPress site. Each account is listed separately in the Connected Accounts panel and can be selected independently when creating a feed. The newest account you connect is automatically set as the Default Account; though other accounts can be promoted to default from the account menu. See Managing Multiple Instagram Accounts for the full walkthrough.
The Default Account is preselected whenever you create a new feed, and it is the account the plugin uses for any action that does not specify a different account.
When it comes to permission, Elevated Instagram Feed only requests “View profile and access media” permission. It does not request permission to post, comment, message, or perform any write operations on your Instagram account. You can verify the active permissions at any time by visiting your Instagram account’s authorized apps page.
If you are trying to connect Instagram to WordPress and the popup does not open, this might be due to your browser blocking the popup. Click the popup-blocked notification in your browser’s address bar and allow popups for your WordPress admin URL, then click Connect Account again. As an alternative, hold the Cmd key (macOS) or Ctrl key (Windows) while clicking Connect Account to force-open the OAuth window in a new tab.
You are already logged into a different Instagram account in this browser. Log out of Instagram in the popup, then log back in with the account you want to connect. To log out, navigate to instagram.com in the popup, open the profile menu, and select Log out.
