To enable product attribute search, navigate to Elevated › Product Search › Settings › Advanced Options and expand the Search Scope panel. Toggle Attributes to ON, then click Save Settings. The indexer automatically includes product attribute values. Customers can then find products by searching for colors, sizes, materials, or any other attribute assigned to your products.
If you prefer video, here’s a quick walkthrough of the entire process.
Navigate to Elevated › Product Search › Settings.
Look for the Advanced Options section on the left side of the page. Click Advanced Options to expand it.

The Search Scope panel appears at the top of the expanded section.
In the Search Scope panel, look for the Attributes toggle.

Toggle Attributes to ON.
Click Save Settings at the top of the page.

The indexer automatically rebuilds to include attribute data from all products. A success message appears indicating how many products were indexed.
Visit a page on your frontend where the search form is placed.
Type a known product attribute value into the search input. For example, if you have products with a Color attribute set to Red, type Red.

Confirm that products with matching attribute values appear in the live dropdown results.
WooCommerce product attributes describe characteristics such as color, size, material, or pattern. These can be global attributes created under Products › Attributes and applied to multiple products, or custom attributes added directly to individual products.
When you enable the Attributes toggle in Search Scope, the indexer extracts all attribute values assigned to each product and adds them to the search index. When a customer searches for a word that matches an attribute value, Elevated Product Search returns all products associated with that attribute.
For example, if you sell clothing and have assigned the color Navy to several shirts, a customer typing Navy will see all shirts with that color attribute, even if the word “Navy” does not appear in the product title or description.
WooCommerce product search attributes work alongside other enabled fields. If Titles, Tags, and Attributes are all enabled, a single search query matches against all three sources. A customer searching for Cotton will see products with that word in the title, products tagged Cotton, and products with a Material attribute set to Cotton.
If your products use variable attributes (such as a parent product with variations in multiple sizes), the attribute values are typically stored on the parent product in WooCommerce. Elevated Product Search indexes these values so customers can search by any available attribute variation.
Product attribute search returns no results
Confirm the Attributes toggle is set to ON in Search Scope and that you clicked Save Settings. Verify the product you are testing has attributes assigned in WooCommerce. If you recently enabled the setting, click Force Index Rebuild in the Indexer section and test again.
Search returns no results for a specific attribute value
Check that the attribute value is entered correctly on the product. WooCommerce distinguishes between global attributes and custom product attributes. Both are indexed when the Attributes toggle is enabled, but only if the value is saved on the product.
Too many results for a generic attribute value
Common values such as Medium or Black may match many products across different categories. Combine attribute search with other scope settings or use more specific attribute names to refine results.
