To add an Instagram slider to WordPress, create a new feed and select either the Grid Slider Header or Grid Slider Clean template in Step 1 of the setup wizard. In Step 5 (Layout), expand the Slider Settings panel to configure navigation arrows, touch-drag parameters, transitions, and autoplay behaviors, then copy and paste the generated shortcode.
Navigate to Elevated › Instagram Feed in your WordPress admin sidebar menu. On the default Overview page, click the Get Started Here button to launch the 7-step wizard. You can also navigate to the My Feeds tab and click Create New Feed.
Under Step 1 (Template), select one of the horizontal carousel options:
Click Next to move to Step 2.

On Step 2 (Account), the live preview pane on the right side of the screen will display posts as a horizontal slider from your default profile. If you have multiple profiles connected, you can click any profile card to render posts from that specific profile.
Click Next through Steps 3 (Filters) and 4 (Post Elements) to move to Step 5 (Layout).

Once you reach Step 5 (Layout), expand the Slider Settings accordion panel located in the left-hand column.

Configure the sliding behavior using the following controls:
Click Next through Step 6 (Styles) to save your layout rules and open the final wizard screen.
On Step 7 (Complete), add your Feed Title (optional) and click the copy icon next to the box to copy the shortcode string (e.g., [elevated_instagram_feed id=”1″]) on your local clipboard.
Click the My Feeds button to close the setup wizard.

After you add an Instagram slider to WordPress, open your desired page, post, or widget element in the WordPress block editor or page builder and paste your copied shortcode directly into the layout.
An Instagram slider on WordPress is highly efficient at managing vertical page height. It allows you to present a high volume of social media posts inside a compact horizontal strip, preventing your posts from pushing other critical content off-screen.
To provide a consistent user experience, consider applying the following settings:
| Slider Setting | Default Value | Recommended Practice |
| Arrows Control | ON | Keep active to provide clear visual cues for desktop users. |
| Drag Control | ON | Keep active so mobile users can navigate with natural touch-swipe gestures. |
| Animation Speed | 0.6 ms | Keep transitions fast and smooth to prevent loading delay impressions. |
| Autoplay Interval | 0 (Disabled) | Use 5000 ms to 8000 ms for visual interest on main homepages; keep disabled on checkout or form pages. |
All Instagram sliders on WordPress are optimized to be fully responsive. On mobile, the sliding engine automatically reduces the visible item columns to fit smaller screen resolutions seamlessly. As Elevated Instagram Feed caches media assets locally on your server, slide transitions are fast and free of loading interruptions from external API queries.
The slider does not auto-scroll on the website
If your Instagram slider on WordPress does not auto-scroll, first ensure that your Autoplay Interval is configured with a valid millisecond value greater than 0 (e.g., 6000 for six seconds). If it is configured correctly, check for JavaScript minimization or deferral conflicts from your active performance and optimization plugins, which can prevent the carousel rendering script from executing.
Touch-swipe or click-drag is unresponsive on mobile devices
Verify that the Drag Control toggle switch is set to ON inside Step 5 (Layout) of your wizard. If the toggle is active but swipe gestures still fail, check if another active layout element or page-builder container has overlapping CSS padding that blocks touch events.
The navigation arrows are missing or overlapping other content
If navigation arrows are partially cut off at your screen boundaries, confirm that your theme container has adequate padding. You can add extra spacing around your slider container under Step 6 (Styles) by expanding the Feed accordion and increasing the Margin or Padding values.
