To use the shortcode generated in Elevated Instagram Feed, copy the code string, such as [elevated_instagram_feed id=”1″], from your feed list and paste it into any page, post, widget sidebar, or page builder on your site. The shortcode uses a database reference system, meaning any modifications you save inside the plugin settings automatically update on your live pages.
Each feed gets a unique shortcode. You can copy a feed’s shortcode from two areas inside the plugin dashboard:
At the end of the feed creation or editing process (Step 7: Complete), the plugin displays a confirmation screen. Click the copy icon next to the display box containing your shortcode to save it to your clipboard.

If you have already created your feed, navigate to Elevated › Instagram Feed and select the My Feeds tab. Locate your feed card from the list and click the Copy shortcode button to save it.

Every feed generated by the plugin is represented by a shortcode using the following base structure:
[elevated_instagram_feed id=”X”]
Because the shortcode compiles to standard HTML on page render, it is compatible with all WordPress editors and theme frameworks:
Open your target page or post edit screen. Click the + (Add Block) icon, search for the Shortcode block, and insert it. Paste your shortcode into the text area of the block and click Update or Publish.

Open your page builder editor. Add a Shortcode, Text, or HTML module to your layout. Paste the code [elevated_instagram_feed id=”X”] inside the text input area. The builder will compile the shortcode to display your feed layout inside the editor or on the public front end.

If you are using the legacy Classic Editor, open your post editor and click either the Visual or Text edit tab. Paste your shortcode directly into your post content area where you want the feed grid to render and click Save.

Navigate to Appearance › Widgets. Click the + icon inside your target widget area (e.g., Sidebar Widget Container), add a Shortcode block, and paste your code inside. Click Update to save and publish.

The [elevated_instagram_feed id=”X”] shortcode functions as a dynamic database reference pointer. Instead of hardcoding styling details or image URLs directly into your post content area, the shortcode tells WordPress to fetch the specific configuration rules matching that feed’s unique database ID before compiling the page layout.
The database reference system ensures your feed updates automatically. If you decide to change your hover color styles in Step 6 or modify your whitelisted hashtags in Step 3, you only need to adjust those settings inside the setup wizard. Once saved, the updates apply instantly to every live instance of that shortcode on your website without requiring you to replace or touch the page layouts again.
The shortcode displays as plain text on the website
This occurs if you paste the shortcode into a block that displays raw code, such as a Preformatted or Code block. To resolve this, delete the plain text, insert a proper Shortcode block into your editor, and paste your shortcode inside. Additionally, make sure the Elevated Instagram Feed plugin is active on your site.
The feed displays outdated content or template styles
If the feed layout on your public site does not match your saved wizard settings, your local server cache is out of sync. Navigate to the Settings tab in the plugin admin and click the red Clear Cache button next to Clear Cached Media to force the plugin to rebuild your local files.
The shortcode container is empty on the page
If the shortcode generates an empty block, ensure your connected Instagram account is still active and authorized. If your account session token has expired, return to Step 2 (Account) of the setup wizard to re-authorize your profile.
