How to Customize Post Elements in Your Feed

To configure post elements, navigate to Elevated › Instagram Feed, open your feed in edit mode, and proceed to Step 4 (Post Elements). Under the Posts panel, you can set the Image Aspect Ratio. You can also toggle thumbnail metadata elements like Likes Count, Comments Count, Text, and Autoplay Video to ON or OFF, define custom post-click actions, and customize your lightbox modal elements.

Step 1: Access the Post Elements Step

Navigate to Elevated › Instagram Feed inside your WordPress dashboard sidebar. Click the My Feeds tab, locate your target feed from the list, and click the Edit button to launch the wizard.

At the top of the wizard, click step 4 (Post Elements) to load your configuration panel.

Step 2: Configure Image Aspect Ratio and Hover Elements

  • Image Aspect Ratio: Click the dropdown to choose between 1:1 (Classic) (native square layout) or 4:5 (New) (portrait format).
  • Post Elements: Set individual toggle switches to ON or OFF to determine what information displays on the thumbnail’s hover state:
    • Likes Count: Toggle to display the quantity of likes on the post.
    • Comments Count: Toggle to display the comment count on the post.

Step 3: Define Post Click Actions

  • Open in Instagram: Redirects the user directly to the external Instagram URL.
  • None: Disables link clicks on post thumbnails entirely.

  • Follow Button: Show a follow button linking to the account.
  • Instagram Link: Add a link button directly to the live post on Instagram.
  • Likes Count: Display the total post likes.
  • Share: Display a native sharing control button.
  • Text: Render the full Instagram post caption.

Troubleshooting Common Post Element and Interactivity Issues

The aspect ratio changes do not update on the public website

This indicates that your browser, host, or optimization plugin is serving cached styles. To fix this, move to the last step inside the wizard to save your settings. Then, navigate to the Settings tab at the top of your dashboard and click the red Clear Cache button under the Clear Cached Media configuration setting to force your public pages to rebuild.

Video and Reel posts do not play automatically on mobile screens

Modern mobile web browsers strictly block media containing audio from autoplaying without user interaction. Ensure that your video files are silent or that the Autoplay Video toggle is set to ON inside Step 4, which forces silent playback to comply with mobile browser policies.

The modal lightbox displays incorrect colors or unreadable text

The layout configuration in Step 4 controls only which elements display inside the lightbox popup window. If the text inside your modal is difficult to read or has incorrect color values, navigate to Step 6 (Styles) of your feed setup and expand the Popup accordion panel to customize your overlay, text, link, and button colors.
