Elevated Product Search does not include a dedicated location search feature. You can achieve location-based search by creating a custom field for location data on your products, then adding that field to the Search Scope. This article shows how to set it up using a “Made In” field as an example.
Create a text-based custom field on your WooCommerce products using your preferred custom fields plugin (such as Advanced Custom Fields, Meta Box, or JetEngine).
Name the field something customers naturally search for. For a clothing store, Made In is intuitive. Other options include Origin, Ships From, or Store Location, depending on your business model.
Configure the field as a Text based field so Elevated Product Search can index the plain text values.

Edit one or more products in WooCommerce.
Look for the custom field in the product editor and enter a location value. For example, enter Italy, USA, or Japan in the Made In field.

Save the product. Repeat for other products, assigning relevant location values to each.
Navigate to Elevated › Product Search › Settings › Advanced Options.
Look for the Search in Custom Fields section.
Click the input field and type a keyword to find your location field. For example, type “made” to locate the Made In field.

Select the field from the list to add it.
Click Save Settings at the top of the page.

The indexer automatically rebuilds to include the location field data. A success message appears indicating how many products were indexed.
Visit a page on your frontend where the search form is placed.
Type a location value into the product search input. For example, type Italy.

Confirm that products with matching location values appear in the live dropdown results.
Product location search in Elevated Product Search is a custom field workaround rather than a dedicated feature. As Elevated Product Search can index custom fields, you can use this feature for geographic or origin-based filtering by storing location data in a field and adding it to the Search Scope.
This approach works for various location use cases:
The search behavior follows standard custom field matching. Customers can type the exact value stored in the field, or partial values if your Match Strictness settings allow it. If Fuzzy Matching is enabled, minor typos in location names may still return results.
The limitation with the workaround is that you are searching raw text values, not structured geographic data. Elevated Product Search does not support radius searches, map integration, or distance filtering. If a product has “USA” in the field, searching “America” or “United States” will not match unless those exact strings are also stored. For geographic synonym handling, you must normalize your data entry (for example, always using full country names or always using abbreviations).
The location field does not appear in the custom fields list
When setting up WooCommerce search product by location, ensure that at least one product has a value saved for the field. Empty field definitions may not appear in the Elevated Product Search selector. Populate the field on a test product and return to the settings to search again.
Search returns no results for a location
Confirm you selected the correct field from the list. Verify the product has the exact value you are searching for. Remember that “USA” and “United States” are treated as different strings.
Too many or too few results appear
If you use broad location values (such as “Europe”), many products may match. If you use highly specific values (such as “Milan, Italy”), fewer products will match. Adjust your data entry strategy based on how granular you want the search to be.
